Paris SG Players Refuse to Cut Wages

The club continues to negotiate the salary reduction to its staff, although for the moment there has been no agreement and all proposals have been rejected.

Paris SG players still do not accept the club's proposals to lower wages during the coronavirus crisis. According to L’Équipe, the team's captains, Thiago Silva and Marquinhos, are in charge of talking to the leadership, without being able to reach a final agreement at the moment.

At the moment the footballers refuse to cut their chips and the negotiations seem to have come to a standstill. "I hope they make an effort for their club," PSG President Nasser Al-Khelaifi said last week, something that does not appear to come at the moment.

L’Équipe indicates that the club expected more cooperation from the members of the first squad, which at the moment is reluctant to lower its salary despite the fact that soccer is totally paralyzed by the Covid-19.

The news jumps when it is expected that from the Elysium it will be announced that football in France will not return until, at least, in August.

PSG has estimated that it may lose around € 240 million in revenue while the hiatus lasts, a figure that could increase if the season is not finally restarted.

PSG footballers are by far the highest paid in French football. Neymar, with a salary of around 36 million euros, is the highest paid in all of Ligue 1.
