The Bundesliga
will not resume, as planned, on May 9. This is clear from the meeting that
Chancellor Angela Merkel held with the presidents of the 16 federated states
this Thursday, according to the journalist Javier Cáceres, from the Suddeutsche
Zeitung, on his twitter account.
According to this source, the document that contains the
content and the agreements reached in said meeting does not include any pact
for the restart of the league competition, suspended, like the rest of the
major continental Leagues, by the coronavirus.
The truth is that even before the start of the meeting this
Thursday, it was almost ruled out that any agreement in this regard would be
adopted and made public. All sources pointed out that it will be at the summit
on May 6 when there will be a final decision.
In fact, Helge Braun, head of the Federal Chancellery, had
previously referred to the matter, assuring that it was a particularly
sensitive subject that had to be studied in depth and on which an agreement
with the 16 federal states had to be reached. What is clear is that on May 9
the Bundesliga will not be launched
yet.
